Synopsis

Biochemistry is a rapidly advancing subject with latest developments in the areas such as molecular diagnostics, automation of laboratory procedures, thrust given for quality control and the increasing dependence on biochemical tests in clinical decision making. Considering these developments, we have included topics such as laboratory equipments, glassware, laboratory hazards, automation and quality control in this edition of laboratory manual. The authors have also tried to enrich the readers by adding chapters on assays of calcium, alkaline phosphatase, vitamins and urinary proteins. Incorporation of photographs of osazones, few laboratory tests and hemin crystals, is an added feature of this laboratory manual.
