Key Features
• Vitiligo is not a life-threatening disease, but it does produce a lot of psychological stress and social ostracization.

• The treatments available so far have been unable to provide complete control over the disease activity and eradication of the disease process, making the patient live in a state of constant fear and helplessness.

• The Modified Oral Mini-pulse regimen developed by the author has shown the ability to treat all aspects of the disease: Complete control over the disease activity, repair of the damage done already, and eradication of the disease process.

• In addition, the treatment is simple, easy, and has much less side effects, compared to the previously available methods of treatment.

• This book provides details of the Modified Oral Mini-pulse regimen recently developed by the author.
DOODY'S BOOK REVIEW
REVIEWER'S EXPERT OPINION

Patricia Wong, MD (Stanford University Medical Center)

Description

to teach dermatologists how to cure vitiligo

Purpose

an effective treatment for vitiligo.

Audience

The audience is dermatologists treating patients with vitiligo.

Features

The author has extensive experience treating patients with oral azathioprine, oral cyclophosphamide, oral betamethasone, and topical fluticasone. He presents multiple patient cases in detail outlining their treatment response, length of treatment, and laboratory results. The author reassures readers that there is minimal risk involved with the treatment if it is followed as he discusses.

There are numerous clinical photographs attesting to the success of his therapeutic protocol. Interestingly, the author does not espouse any of the vitamin supplement recommendations I have heard as treatments for vitiligo.

Assessment

I have not come across another book that is so confident in promising a cure for a skin condition that is traditionally difficult to treat. I am curious to try this approach - I am looking forward to seeing my next vitiligo patient. The author has evidently had very good success with his approach and has kindly shared it with all of us in this little book of 70 some pages.
