The specialties of obstetrics and gynaecology have witnessed enormous changes in the last few years. This book has been written to reflect these changes and to provide a comprehensive overview of clinical practice, including topics such as HPV vaccination, female genital mutilation, recurrent miscarriage, vaginal birth after caesarean section, invasive fetal testing and HIV in pregnancy. It is not intended to be an exhaustive textbook, but a primer which provides up-to-date, relevant, evidencebased guidance for clinicians involved in the care of women during pregnancy and childbirth and the care of women with gynaecological disorders. 

This book primarily for specialty trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology. It is an exam revision tool and also facilitates clinical decision making at the point of care. It offers simple, concise explanations in an easily accessible format with extensive cross-referencing to NICE and RCOG guidelines. It is aimed specifically at prospective MRCOG Part 2 candidates, but it will also be useful for those studying for the DRCOG and for medical students preparing for their obstetrics and gynaecology finals. Each topic has been prepared by a specialty trainee in obstetrics and gynaecology or a consultant with expertise in a particular specialist area.
