Description
This logbook has been compiled on the basis of Competency-based Undergraduate Curriculum 2024 for the Indian Medical Graduate shared by the NMC. The revised 2024 curriculum has specified the competencies that a student must attain including compulsory certifiable skill competencies and clearly defined teaching-learning strategies for the same. The dedicated hours of “Early Clinical Exposure,” “Integrated Teaching,” “AETCOM,” and “Self-directed Learning” have been revised. The various modules of AETCOM for each phase have been revised and distributed among the subjects of respective phases. The NMC has also shared specific guidelines for assessment, whether formative or summative. To incorporate these latest guidelines in the logbook, the second edition has been introduced. This logbook provides a ready format to record the activities, competencies, and other sections related to “Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry” along with ample space for recording assessment and attendance details of the student helping faculties to plan their teaching methodology for mediocre students. It also has a blank tabulated format permitting flexibility to record competencies decided by the department, especially for “Vertical Integration” and “Self-directed Learning.” Combined with reflective writing, feedback from preceptors and the records can be used for formative and summative assessment.
