The students can be assessed in between and at the end of the semester.
  • This manual contains “shows”, “shows how”, and “performs” exercises for development of skills (psychomotor, communication, team work, and intellectual).
  • The practical sessions will also allow the students to observe a demonstration, assist the performer, perform (demonstrate) in simulated environment, perform under supervision, or perform independently (DOAP).
  • It is presented in a very simple and lucid language. Exercises are self-explanatory and need to be completed with appropriate answers.
  • Proformas and certificates are provided with hypothetical cases (paper case) so that the students take more interest in the subject and discuss with the facilitators.
  • Certificates, reports, and notifications issued by doctors for the purposes of various administrative requirements are given in detail.
  • Sample medicolegal report, postmortem report, and death certificate have been included for better understanding of these key practicals.
  • Clinical forensic medicine is the highlight of this manual. Examination of an individual for estimation of age, survivor examination in sexual assault/forced anal intercourse, examination of accused in sexual assault, poisoning, and drunkenness are given in detail and in structured format.
  • There are 15 proformas for postmortem examination, out of which 10 are structured so that the students learn to document the findings of postmortem examination properly and the remaining 5 is unstructured (as used in different states).
  • Colored images of toxicological specimens, various types of injuries, and histopathological slides have been included as per the NMC guidelines.
  • An innovative exercise “Project” to develop medico-legal case examination and academic writing for the students is included. In this exercise, a student is required to submit a case report (MLR/PMR), which she/he has worked upon during his/her posting in the emergency or mortuary.
