Description
This logbook has been developed based on the most recent Competency-Based Undergraduate Curriculum for Indian Medical Graduates issued by the NMC (2024, dated 12.09.2024). The updated curriculum outlines the essential competencies students must achieve and clearly defines the corresponding teaching and learning strategies. This revised curriculum includes dedicated hours for certifiable competencies, integrated teaching, AETCOM, pandemic module, field visit records, and self-directed learning, with specific modules for each phase clearly aligned with the respective subjects. Furthermore, the NMC has outlined specific guidelines for both formative and summative assessments. In response to these guidelines, the third edition of this logbook has been introduced. The logbook offers a structured format for recording student activities, competencies, and other related sections in Community Medicine. It also provides ample space for recording assessments and attendance, assisting faculty in planning their teaching strategies for students across different levels. Additionally, it includes a flexible, blank tabulated format that allows departments to record competencies related to vertical integration and self-directed learning. Coupled with reflective writing and feedback from preceptors, these records can be used for both formative and summative assessments.
