This edition of the update attempts to provide simple answers to some of the tricky questions faced by intensivists while managing complex patients. Some of the controversies that arise during the process of decision-making for a critically ill patient have been addressed in this edition. While this update book is not a substitute for a standard textbook of critical care, it surely will be a worthy addition and supplement to the knowledge resources sought by specialists in intensive care.
