This workshop has been conceived to bridge the space between textbook knowledge and bedside wisdom. The Art of Labour emphasizes that normal labour is not synonymous with passive observation, nor is intervention a sign of failure. Instead, excellence in intrapartum care demands continuous assessment, early recognition of deviation from normal, and decisive action taken with clarity and confidence. The manual and deliberations within this workshop focus on real world labour room challenges—interpreting progress, identifying early warning signs of maternal or fetal compromise, preventing avoidable morbidity, and responding effectively when labour veers off its expected course. Equal importance is given to communication, team coordination, and documentation, recognizing that safe labour care is a collective responsibility.
